The Class Clown
It would be better to stand in front of a bear whose cubs were stolen, than a fool in the middle of his foolishness (Proverbs 17:12). The psychological environment there is far more wild then any rain forest or jungle. And here’s why: A fool speaks like an alcoholic drives (Proverbs 17:7), crashing into conversations so recklessly and with no "coverage." Sometimes this accident is on purpose! They produce emotional hit-and-runs that leave feelings hurting and relationships dying off. Now usually a fool stays too blind to their own invisible injuries, let alone others! So let me to spell it out: The Top 25 Signs of a Fool... biblically!
Observe them as they stumble off the same obstacles (Proverbs 4:19) all their life. There’s no riddle to their anger that’s so easy to see (Proverbs 12:16). Practically allergic to instruction (Proverbs 17:10), with a restraining order on knowledge (Proverbs 1:7), the only other way to function in life is to keep designated thinkers of their payroll. However, the patronizing benefits fight off the realization of this racketeering experience (Proverbs 26:3). You can catch this character with their hands folded(Ecclesiastics 4:5 & 10:12), and with the most active tongue amongst us all. This is despite the fact that silence is their best marketing campaign (Proverbs 17:28). Socrates once said, "Wise people speak because they have something to say, while fools speak because they have to say something.” And their nature concurs as fools are addicted to sharing their ignorance (Proverbs 18:2). And no, it’s not a personality disorder; it’s a lifestyle by choice because it’s easier. Although their laughter is not counterfeit (Ecclesiastics 7:6), it’s mostly a defense mechanism against their image. Never knowing how to handle wisdom (Proverbs 7:4) or close friends, they are a justifiable embarrassment to their parents (Proverbs 17:21). Not even a psychologist could know for sure without scripture. But a fool’s equation all ‘adds up’ in Biblical Algebra: (Solve for X): They want to camouflage their intimidation. Wisdom is their ‘Abel’ since they fantasize about a world without it. And the misplaced anger that results, in the real world, is aimed directly at God (Proverbs 19:3) if they’re lukewarm. If not, it’s aimed at exaggerated ideologies of discrimination.
During their suffering, fools prefer to hallucinate through intoxication (Proverbs 20:1) or contaminate true facts with their false opinions (Galatians 6:3). "Class Clowns” never understand that it is them who are the real entertainment. As they are blindfolded by their ego (Ecclesiastics 2:14), campaigning for their own downfall (Proverbs 18:6), you can’t help but laugh. But if their "ears that do not hear (Jeremiah 5:21)” ever decide to end the strike, I would tell them that it doesn’t have to be this way. I would echo the advice, "Let your laughter be turned to mourning (James 4:9) (Ecclesiastics 2:2),” give your perception a proper burial (I Corinthians 5:13), and finally live the life God has in store for you. Until then, take a good look at our "class clown”… the fool.
