It would be better being near a bear
whose cubs were stolen, than a fool in the middle of his/her foolishness
(Proverbs 17:12). The psychological environment there is far more wild than any
rain forest or jungle. And here’s why:
A fool speaks like an alcoholic drives
(Proverbs 17:7): they’re likely to crash into conversations both recklessly and
with no "coverage" if you catch my
drift. Emotional hit-and-runs result, leaving feelings hurting and
relationships dying off. But a fool’s audacity actually adds to their "blind
side” so they don’t have to see the damages, or traffic signs for peace. If you’ve
been spiritually hit, don’t worry about that license plate! I’ve got a biblical description
of their heart.
Observe the fool’s stance: hands folded
(Ecclesiastics 4:5 & 10:12), self-medicating laughter (Ecclesiastics 7:6), and a restless tongue to lead the
boycott against rationalism. Silence is their only camouflage (Proverbs 17:28). Fools defy gravity by constantly standing
up for their downfalls, stumbling off the same obstacles (Proverbs 4:19) all their life.
The more experienced fool doubles up on
their psychological vacancy, meaning it’s not enough to be addicted to ignorance
(Proverbs 18:2); they also have a restraining
order on knowledge (Proverbs 1:7) enforced
by diplomacy. So the only other way left for a fool to function in life is to
keep designated thinkers on their payroll. It’s a self-racketeering experience (Proverbs 26:3)! However, the
patronizing benefits fight off this realization.
As if they’re not comical enough
already, fools can’t even secretly blend in with the more innocent of social
offenders (personality disorder sufferers)! You can spot them by ear, listening
for their relentless attempts to justify their every mistake. And there’s no
riddle to their anger that’s so easy to see (Proverbs
12:16). Not even a psychologist could produce a reasonable origin
without scripture. But a fool’s equation all ‘adds up’ in Biblical
Algebra:
(Solve for
X): They want to camouflage their intimidation. Wisdom is their ‘Abel’
since they fantasize about a world without it. And the misplaced anger
that results, in the real world, is aimed directly at God (Proverbs 19:3) if they’re lukewarm. If not, it’s
aimed at exaggerated ideologies of discrimination.
During their suffering, fools prefer to
hallucinate through intoxication (Proverbs 20:1)
or contaminate true facts with their false opinions (Galatians
6:3). "Class Clowns” never understand that it is them who are the real entertainment. As
they are blindfolded by their ego (Ecclesiastics 2:14), campaigning for
their own downfall (Proverbs 18:6), you
can’t help but laugh. But if their "ears that do not hear (Jeremiah 5:21)” ever decide to listen, I would
tell them that it doesn’t have to be this way. I would echo the advice,
"Let your laughter be turned to mourning (James
4:9) (Ecclesiastics 2:2),” give your
perception a proper burial (I Corinthians 5:13),
and finally live the life God has in store for you. Until then, take a good
look at our "class clown”… the fool.
