EXAM FIVE: THE U AND I IN "COMMUNICATION"
Chances are you've never had a friend like this! Allow this story to introduce you both. He's going to need you sooner than you think; perhaps before this scene is over. Good Luck!

A new Christian, desperate to get the ‘good news’ out to all mankind, prays for a way to make people accept Christ. And in a dream, he claims that God answers his prayer with a plan especially for him:
"Set yourself on fire in a public place. And, during the crisis, preach My Word. I will protect you.”

The goal was that people would be so amazed at the sight of a man unaffected by fire, that they would become saved.

The next day, this man enters a crowded park nearby. He drenches himself with gasoline, gets himself toward the center of the public site, and lights a match to himself. Immediately, he becomes ablaze. And as he begins to preach, drowned out by screams, good Samaritans rush towards him to stop, drop, and roll him over.

Fortunately, this man survives. However, his body is an unhealthy souvenir: permanent skin burns, damaged limbs, and speech problems. Many believe the Lord works in mysterious ways. Is this really one of them?

Imagine this new Christian being a friend of yours. It is obvious that this man did not truly hear from God. But, beyond logical insistence, the Bible makes it clear that God would never say this! How many verses and/or procedural components can you discover in scripture that would contradict this plan beforehand?
